We had a group discussion about what date worked best for the majority on June 29th at Norm's Bar in Springfield. I informed the group what the other classmates had voted via social media, texts and email ... and the date we all agreed upon was Czech Days 2020: June 19 & 20th.
We would like to be in the Big Parade on Friday, June 19th at 1PM in Tabor ... a pickup truck or a flat bed, if we can acquire one, would be amazing.... If someone wants to spearhead this, that would be equally awesome.
We also, as a group, decided against having a float/truck in the BHHS Light Parade held every year in Tyndall, the night before the homecoming football game in September 2019.
More details will come later... This blog will be our main source of information / news / updates so check back often.
For those of you that I am connected with on social media, I will also put the identical updates on there as well... and when the date gets closer to next year, I'll put information in all three BH Publishing papers too. [Scotland, Tyndall, Springfield]. Also I will submit the same information in the "News Digest" section in the Yankton Press & Dakotan and Mitchell's Daily Republic. Other than those outlets, please just spread the word.
As always, feel free to suggest things, et cetera OR just do something for our Class and take ownership of it ... and we will try to make things happen.
Huge thanks for those who could make it to Norm's on June 29th: Tommy (& wife Sheila) Juhnke; Kevin Vellek; Vicki (Jelsma) Hovorka; Russ Odens and Chuck Hoaglin. AND a bigger thanks for those who contacted me to submit your votes too.
In all sincerity, we truly do have a wonderful class from 1985.
Have a safe and happy 4th of July!

Amy
